The Book of Mormon Open

Tuesday night my priests were in charge of the combined activity for our ward mutual. We decided to plan a mini-golf activity. Each class or quroum was in charge of creating a golf hole that was themed around the Book of Mormon. My contribution to our Lehi’s vision hole was the Tree of Life. It was a true Grandpa Tom foam core project. Tree of Life Golf
It cost twice as much as it should have and took three times as much as it should have. Note the personal spin on the fruit of the tree of life (Titelist Golf Balls). It was a bit of a hectic activity and I don’t think the young women were as excited as the young men, but once we got all the holes set up and people started playing I think everyone had a good time. Our hole came together really well. The young men’s president took a big pipe “iron rod” and created a ramp that led into the pipe. If you hit it hard enough and straight enough it would make it through the pipe and then fall into a second gutter drain which would drop you right into the tree of life. If you did not hit it good enough, there were holes in the pipe and the ball would drop out leaving you to navigate the mists of darkness, the filthy waters and the large and spacious building. It was a pretty good time.
