Olympic Insider Report

Many people have been asking where the competitor’s from this years Gunn Family Olympiad prefer to dine (not really but play along). I am privileged to report that on Friday night the competitors dined at the new Firehouse Pizzeria in Centerville. The firehouse is a nice dine-in / take out pizzeria located just north of Target. We have been wanting to to try it for a couple months now and were pleasantly surprised by the food. we started with their cheesy focassia bread appetizer which the kids absolutely devoured. Jami got a side Salad which was large and fresh. We did have to ask for more dressing but the waitress was happy to oblige. We decided to share a large Artichoke Chicken Pizza and if pizza eating was an olympic event we would not have meddled at all. We only at about half as a family and had plenty of pizza left to take home for the next day. To complete the experience we tried their unique dessert the Fh’zookie which is a cookie baked in a small pizza dish and then topped with ice cream. We just got a personal size one to try but it was a home run. Everyone loved it and will definately be somethin good enough to get us back to the Firehouse soon.

  1. Firehouse is my favorite new place as well- I wanted to go there for my FG birthday lunch but the idea was poo-pooed so I did the valiant thing and went to Rumbi (though I love that place too). Those fazookie’s are to die for! I like the baked pasta’s better than the pizza- a full size gives you free bread or salad. Oh and an insider’s tip- Wednesday night is free drink night (with unlimited refills).

    Love your guys’ Olympics!
